An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Data Management Team for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our vibrant, forward-thinking practice. The right person will be keen to learn and contribute to the performance of the Practice, will have a good eye for detail and strong IT skills.
We are happy to be flexible with hours; part-time, job share, and flexible working will be considered.
Experience of working in a medical setting would be desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
To work within the data team undertaking a range of data duties which includes but is not limited to coding of information into patients' clinical records from a range of sources including correspondence from other care service providers and other sources on the practice clinical system, adhering to guidance and procedure. Daily data administration tasks and administration of patient recall systems.

We are a busy practice of over 12,000 patients which leads to high volumes of data processing. As part of the data team, you will be managed by the Data Quality Manager who will lead and direct the team to achieve high-quality outcomes for the Practice.
The role is varied and will involve some training depending upon experience.
Job responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
* Coding patient data onto EMIS
* Extracting the required data from clinical correspondence and inputting this data into the patients' electronic health care record
* Assisting in the administration and coding of safeguarding documentation ensuring timescales are met
* Actioning daily administration tasks including but not limited to:
o Data EMIS task inbox
o Data Emails
o Diary Entry Housekeeping
o Filing/retrieving of patients' paper notes
o Calculating and processing patient Home Blood Pressure Readings & other patient questionnaire responses following procedure
o Administration of patient call and recall systems (when required)
o Maintain effective security of data at all times
Secondary Responsibilities
* Undertake audits as directed by the audit lead
* Assist with queries regarding safeguarding matters and refer to clinicians appropriately
* Run searches and interpret the data for audit purposes
* Initiate data quality improvement projects and collate the required data for reporting purposes
* Ensure new patient records are received electronically and imported into the EMIS clinical system.
* Support the team in the effective use of searches & audits
* Support the team in the use of the clinical system
* Provide guidance in troubleshooting when required
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Experience
* Experience of administration duties
* Experience of working in a health care setting
