The IT department delivers an IT service that encompasses the whole of BWC, supporting 6,000 employees working from various premises across multiple service departments. Additionally, services are delivered regionally, encompassing NHS England and the ICS. IT services provided include:
1. Ensuring the smooth running and maintenance of the Trust's corporate servers.
2. Ensuring all applications on servers are installed correctly and regularly maintained.
3. Supporting other ICT third line duties as directed by the ICT Infrastructure Manager.
4. Directing users on the use of ICT, empowering skills and knowledge.
5. Maintaining and updating personal skills and knowledge to benefit the Trust.
6. Promoting the correct use of ICT policies.
7. Participating in the ICT Server Operations On Call service.
Main duties of the job
1. First point of contact for ICT Technical staff.
2. Ensuring all corporate servers are maintained correctly, ensuring firmware and software revisions are correct.
3. Ensuring all corporate server OS and applications are working correctly, regularly maintaining all software packages along with updates.
4. Liaising with third-party suppliers regarding resolving any issues with servers and network-related incidents.
5. Responding to all requests for new installations, fault calls, and helpdesk requests within agreed timescales.
6. Configuring and installing software in line with Trust Policies and Procedures.
7. Undertaking procurement of ICT equipment in the Trust with guidance from the ICT Technical Support Team.
8. Connecting Trust equipment to the Trust Local Area Network where appropriate.
9. Adhering to data security protocols, including backups, secure storage, and password protection.
10. Providing third-level technical support to Trust staff.

* MCITP in Windows 2016 server technologies or equivalent experience.
* Sound educational background to GCSE level or equivalent.
* Evidence of continuous development.

* Set up servers both Physical and Virtual in a VMware environment.
