Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job: Participate and assist in planning and conducting activities to develop new products or techniques / methods within R&D Microbiology in full compliance with current quality and safety standards. Provide assistance and technical support for activities to improve or support existing products, methods or techniques. Main Accountabilities: Is responsible for performing activities related to product development and support, including experimental planning (at least for near-term activities) and execution as well as creation of detailed documentation. May design experiments to optimize technical performance (conduct and analyze relevant bibliographic surveys to support this activity). Creates and presents reports on conducted experiments in a prescribed format. Is responsible for an accurate data analysis process as well as contributes to the interpretation of results together with team, and deduces further work to be carried out. Contributes to the ongoing activities relative to laboratory operations. Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Prioritizes activities to meet deadlines. Handling of human blood and microbiological cultures, including bacteria, yeasts, moulds, Nocardia, and mycobacteria species using appropriate safety precautions Compliance with established procedures, protocols, and GDP and quality standards Experience and Qualifications: B.S. plus 1-3 years of relevant industry experience or a Master's Degree. Possible fields of knowledge: Microbiology preferred, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology Experience working in a regulated environment (GMP) Competence in aseptic technique and basic microbiology technique Experience with Microsoft word and excel Soft Skills: Has good understanding of company products, methods and techniques Achievement Orientation, analytical thinking, flexibility, information seeking Teamwork and collaboration, establishing and sharing knowledge BioMérieux Inc. and its affiliates are Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employers.
