Together are recruiting volunteers with lived or current experience of mental health distress to provide peer support to service users. As a peer supporter, your lived experience of mental distress will be at the heart of your role. You will use your own experiences to empathise with and support people who are experiencing mental distress. You will be supporting service users in Wellingborough. There are no set hours for this role. It will depend on your availability and the preference of the service users. Peer support can be in the form of 1:1, group work, drop in and assisting them to attend external support such as Mind courses. There is opportunity to join in with service users and other peer supporters at the following groups; health and well-being and relaxation groups. You can meet the service user at the residential home and also go out with them in the community for a walk, coffee, and do other activities such as bowling.

Availability
There is no set time or days for this role. It is very flexible and is based on peer supporters' availability and the preference of the service user. We do require peer supporters to at least commit to peer support for 2 hours a week. There will be opportunity to do from 2-8 hours a week.
