The role
Treasurer Trustee at Paradise Cooperative
We are seeking an additional trustee to join our board and take a lead role in financial matters. This is an unpaid, voluntary position requiring a commitment of approximately 2 hours per week. Find out more about being a trustee at The Paradise Cooperative in our Trustee Recruitment Pack.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the charity maintains proper financial records and robust controls.
2. Review financial performance, including budgets and forecasts.
3. Collaborate with the board to develop financial and investment policies.
4. Liaise with the charity’s independent examiner and oversee financial reporting to the Charity Commission.
5. Support day-to-day operations by working closely with the Director of Operations to manage finances, including salaries, invoices, and expenditures.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Finance professional with qualifications in accounting, audit, or finance (charity finance knowledge is a plus).
2. Strong strategic thinker with a balanced approach to risk and opportunity.
3. Clear communicator, able to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
4. Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to learning and improving financial processes.
5. Provide strategic advice and oversight of the charity’s goals, operations, and financial plans.
6. Monitor risks and governance processes.
7. Support the Director and contribute to the overall promotion of Paradise Cooperative’s mission and values.
