We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ambulance Fleet Assistant (AFA) to join our team based in Huntingdon. The AFA's primary responsibilities include maintaining compliance with routine mechanical and equipment cleaning schedules, promptly addressing reported defects, and updating the fleet management system daily. The role involves conducting deep cleans, audits, servicing and MOTs, as well as addressing basic defects such as bulbs, mirrors, and wipers. The position covers Huntingdon, however will extend to both Cambridge and Peterborough locations, for support during sickness and annual leave. Duties include: Performing thorough 13-week deep cleans of the interior front and rear of vehicles, alongside other related tasks, to uphold the high standard of ambulance cleanliness. Utilising an ATP Swab unit to assess the cleanliness of surfaces (training will be provided). Conducting 13-week audits on vehicles to ensure all consumables are within the expiration dates, restocking vehicles as necessary. Managing stock levels and replenishing appropriate cleaning supplies for vehicles when needed. Inspecting and promptly reporting any equipment faults or new damages to vehicles to the relevant personnel or department Receiving training on relevant equipment repairs, such as heaters and ancillary equipment. Ensuring the premises are securely closed and all vehicles are locked before leaving the site. Arranging vehicle servicing, MOTs, and repairs at designated garages Scheduling vehicle repairs, maintenance, MOT tests, and tire replacements. Updating vehicle records and inputting information into the Fleetcheck management system Operating in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and COSHH guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Performing any additional duties necessary to support the daily operations of the depot. To be considered as an AFA, you will need to be: Essential Hold a full, current driving licence for driving in the UK. Some technical, mechanical skills an advantage but not essential Demonstrate the ability to identify improvements to processes and services.
