Context for the role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Actuary to join the IFRS reporting Team. This role will have a blended approach between working from home and one of our offices in Stirling, Edinburgh or Mumbai.
In this role you will support the delivery of accurate and well explained IFRS results. You will be involved in running and maintaining the IFRS17 engine and associate architecture required to produce IFRS17 results.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the IFRS17 results production, particularly the running and maintenance of the IFRS17 Engine required to produce IFRS17 results.
2. Produce quarterly IFRS17 results from the Engine and analyze and explain movements in liabilities, risk adjustment and CSM as required.
3. Support and define improvements to the IFRS17 reporting process and liaise with IT and other suppliers on necessary developments.
4. Work closely with Group Reporting and Accounting teams to understand output from the Engine in relation to liability disclosures.
5. Produce results timely within the Working Day Timetable.
6. Communicate the results with key stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
7. Maintain effective working relationships with other teams in Finance and IT.
8. Provide other support to Finance reporting initiatives as required.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
1. Be a qualified actuary with post qualification experience.
2. Have experience of IFRS17 reporting requirements.
3. Have knowledge of insurance products and systems.
4. Have experience of the production and delivery of financial reporting in a life organization.
5. Be highly analytical and a skilled problem solver, with a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to distil complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions.
6. Have the ability to communicate effectively and influence successfully with productive relationships with demanding senior stakeholders.
