Admissions and Transitions Officer - Group Support
Spaghetti Bridge is an independent group of specialist schools. We are passionate about providing young people who experience barriers to learning with a dynamic and outcome-focused education.
Due to the continued growth and development of our group, we are looking for an Admissions & Transition Officer to join us. This is an exciting opportunity to join a creative and expanding group with excellent opportunities for professional development.
Location: This is a Hybrid role. We have schools across the South West and are establishing new schools in the Midlands. The postholder will primarily partner with our schools in Gloucester, Swindon, and Northampton. They will also support new schools as they are added to this region. This is a Hybrid post where a majority of the work will be home-based with some occasional travel to schools as directed. Expenses are paid for travel.
The Admissions and Transition Officer will play a pivotal relational role in facilitating and administrating the admissions process and ensuring a smooth transition for new students into our new Spaghetti Bridge schools. You will be responsible for managing the admissions procedures for prospective parents, assisting prospective families with information about our new schools, and then supporting the handover to the staff on the new school site.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Support and invite families into our schools and demonstrate our culture from the outset.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to administer and facilitate a relational admissions process, where students and their families feel valued, heard, and placed at the center of their new student journey.
* Have oversight of the process and ensure that statutory and group requirements are met, including the management of key deadlines.
* Support with communications at key stages of the admissions process including initial enquiries.
* Support with tours and open events, showing families our services through an engaging and charismatic tour.
* Develop a good understanding of the schools' offer.
* Ensure that accurate records and documentation are maintained throughout the admissions process from initial enquiry, consultation process, placement agreements, and contracts.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR guidelines.
* Ensure that all processes meet statutory and company requirements.
* Work with external and internal stakeholders to provide administrative support in relation to student transitions.
* Support the administration and development of Connect and Relate Timetables, including some home visits where necessary.
* Alongside the Curriculum Coordinator, be a consistent contact for families to share information with as children and young people transition into our schools.
* Ensure that relevant documentation is collated and shared in line with statutory requirements and GDPR regulations.
* Responsible for gathering, recording, and disseminating destination data as per group processes.
* Maintain the group’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
* Undertake other relevant administrative tasks and support with holiday cover as requested by the Head of LA Partnerships and Admissions.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have knowledge of and experience within the education sector and specifically SEND provision, including statutory requirements. It would be useful to have an understanding of young people with complex needs and how these needs can be best met.
