An opportunity has arisen to join the catering team at the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness on Windermere. We are looking for an experienced Chef to assist our Catering Manager with daily running of our new Café and delivery of a new seasonal innovative menu using locally sourced produce.
You will be responsible for ensuring all team members are maintaining and upholding food hygiene standards across the business, mentoring and guiding the kitchen team and covering shifts where appropriate. You will work alongside the Catering Manager to produce cost-effective and accurate specifications for our extensive menu.
Minimum Requirements:
The successful Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years or more professional kitchen experience, an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in catering and hold a level 2 or higher in food hygiene (or willing to work towards getting your level 2). In addition, you will need to have demonstrable work knowledge of HACCP and COSHH and have an understanding of the better food business diary.
Please note that we operate within standard retail hours which includes weekends and Bank Holidays.
Duties Include:
1. Ordering stock for the Kitchen & Café and checking receipt of the stock.
2. Liaising with the FOH Supervisor / Catering Manager during handover periods & ensuring standards are maintained.
3. Liaising with the Catering team on Catering issues as required.
4. Liaising with the Catering Manager & Marketing Manager to develop promotions and initiatives to increase visitors and sales in the café.
5. Administration of checking invoices, non-food orders, and other duties in liaison with the Catering Manager.
Job Type: Full-time Permanent position.
Schedule: Day shifts (occasional evening work on special events) Monday – Sunday, 37-40 hours week
Pay: Salary Dependent on experience.
