The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiation with suppliers, contract management, problem-solving, and sourcing materials.
As ReAgent’s Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth purchasing of materials, optimising costs, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. You will also be responsible for a team.
Responsibilities:
* Supplier negotiation and relationship management
o Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
o Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
* Contract management
o Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
o Implement contract changes and manage contract renewals.
o Maintain a repository of all contracts and agreements.
* Source and evaluate new suppliers and materials to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
* Stay updated on industry trends and new products.
* Collaborate with the technical team to understand material specifications and requirements.
* Team leadership
o Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
o Assign tasks and responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
o Create and implement development programmes to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent would be advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
* Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role within the chemical industry, with technical knowledge of chemistry and the application of chemicals.
* Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of securing advantageous terms and pricing agreements.
* Experience in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier contracts.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements related to chemical procurement.
* Ability to lead a team and create a strong and positive team culture.
Please Note: CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
