Multiomics is the future – come and join the biomodal team The Team The Corporate team at biomodal is a small but focused group of specialists across Finance, HR, Legal and Operations working hard to ensure our business is set for success at a time of rapid growth and development. Led by our CFO, the Finance team currently supports our activities across the UK, US and EU and interfaces directly with the senior leadership team, providing key business data to shape strategy and model risk across the business. The Role As our organization evolves there is a greater need for transparency and structure to our financial data. As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, balance sheet reconciliations, making improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects. This role will focus on delivering these requirements through the creation of processes and reports that inform the leadership and allow them to make the right, critical business decision at the right time by analysing and presenting key financial data. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract scheduled to run from January 2025 to December of the same year. Key Duties: As first day-to-day contact for the business, assuming responsibility for accounts receivable and payable and treasury ledgers. Support and mentoring of finance administrator in purchase ledger tasks. Reconciliation and reporting on finished goods inventory, both actuals and forecast position to ensure business decisions can be made on manufacturing output requirements. Working with the wider Finance, Ops and Commercial teams to raise sales invoices and to establish a complete sales ledger/ credit control process and ensure high quality of customer experience throughout their interactions with the Company. Preparation of robust month end reconciliation schedules for key balance sheet accounts. Working with non-finance department leads to ensure information is captured and reported in a clear and concise manner. Review of review of payment runs for UK Company and preparation of payment runs for US subsidiary company. Review of VAT and sales tax returns. Preparation of documentation to support P11D and other ad-hoc tax requirements. Involvement in year-end audit process, ensuring all requested documents are provided to external auditors in a timely manner and resolving audit queries as they arise. The Person The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role and enjoy the idea of being in a high growth and dynamic organisation. There are lots of opportunities to be directly involved in building new processes and have a real impact on how the business evolves its corporate practices. Requirements: Relevant certification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CGMA or equivalent) and experience (PQE 2-3 years) as Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Accounting Supervisor or similar role with strong technical accounting knowledge Excellent knowledge of cost accounting, reporting and financial principles, controls and practices Excellent knowledge of financial/ ERP software and MS Office (high excel proficiency). Solid understanding of management reporting, ideally with a familiarity of IFRS Familiarity with UK VAT reporting requirements and experience with preparation or review of UK VAT returns Prior experience with US sales taxes and EU VAT would be beneficial Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Jet Reports or Power BI reporting would be highly beneficial.
