Assistant Site Engineer (Year In Industry)
The Role
Due to a period of growth we have a new and exciting role for an Year In Industry Assistant Site Engineerto join our Civil Engineering team based on our Zouch Project in Loughborough. Working with the Engineers you will assist in the delivery of a project that matches the contract drawings in terms of dimensions, depths, size, position, verticality, using materials that conform with the specification, to the expected quality, in line with the programme.
Key Accountabilities
1. Work with the Engineer to set out and accurately give dimensional control to building operations.
2. Read and understand drawings and other information such as specifications and B of Q’s.
3. Produce ‘take offs’ of materials required and see that they are correctly referenced for requisitioning.
4. Ensure that surveying instruments are in good order particularly cleaning and drying when used in the rain.
5. Assist in keeping accurate records of quantities and measures for payment purposes.
6. Assist in maintaining Quality Assurance records including photos, test records and prescribed inspections as required by the Quality Plan.
7. Report any non conformances for sign off with Quality Manager.
8. Assist the Engineer to produce As-Built drawings and information.
9. Assist with general supervision of sub-contractors in ensuring that they meet the required standard of work without damage or disruption to other trades.
10. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
11. Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times
12. Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time and to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs
About You
The ideal candidate will have
13. Some technical knowledge of construction and civils operations
14. Time management skills.
15. Good level of communication skills
16. Continue Professional development whilst gaining professional qualifications and recognition.
