Main duties of the job
To provide efficient and effective administrative support within Maternity Services at Sunderland Royal Hospital and South Tyneside District Hospital.
This includes admin and reception duties such as greeting patients and visitors, booking patients via electronic systems, and managing maternity case notes using off-site electronic storage.
To answer calls, manage appointments, and assist with queries or redirect calls as needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE (Level A-C) or NVQ Level 2 equivalent
* RSA Level 2
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or Business Administration or equivalent experience
Physical Skills
* Occasional travel to South Tyneside Hospital
* Ability to lift/retrieve items from above head height
* Long periods at workstations for reception duties
Experience
* Ability to work under pressure
* Effective teamwork
* Accurate record-keeping in IT systems
* Reception/administrative experience, preferably in healthcare
Knowledge & Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Standard keyboard and audio typing skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Organizational and workload management skills
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
* Knowledge of medical terminology, NHS systems, and Version 6
