Job Description
The HVAC System Engineering Service consists of and/or supports all activities performed by engineers in the HVAC Systems team. Those activities comprise:
1. System design and system integration into overall client design.
2. Review and update the system documentation, formulating mechanical, electrical, nuclear safety, and control logic requirements in compliance with engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools.
3. Analysis and verification of input data, requirements, and lessons learned from other stations.
4. Sizing of components (e.g., pumps, pipework, fans, tanks), performing thermal hydraulic calculations and modeling with in-house or commercial tools.
5. Support to the procurement team in formulating technical specifications and supplier surveillance.
6. Modification and configuration management, including managing requests for modifications to systems and checking their applicability.
7. Develop and present technical solutions suitable for all impacted disciplines that support design stability strategy.
8. Solve technically challenging and multi-disciplinary open points in a timely proactive manner.
9. I&C design of systems including applying engineering rules applicable for I&C design, defining I&C functional requirements, using I&C tools available on client site, defining I&C logic, writing test procedures, and producing/updating I&C parts of the System Design Manual.
10. Performing technical peer reviews of I&C documents produced by other engineers in the team.
11. Participation in the preparation of commissioning strategy of systems, including attending kick-off meetings and maturity reviews, producing updated documentation and/or redlines as required, and supporting commissioning teams with system inputs needed for the documentation required for the commissioning sequence.
12. Proactive and positive engagement with all stakeholders around the HVAC systems to ensure the delivery of a product meeting the requirements set by all disciplines (layout, civil, hazard, nuclear safety, environment, configuration management, procurement, etc.).
Qualifications
• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering.
• Relevant experience in the nuclear industry.
• Ability to effectively manage own workload to produce high-quality documents and respect deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, in English.
• Proactive and confident in communicating with others, particularly those based in remote offices, including France and Germany.
• Proactive in developing positive working relations with others within the project.
• Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the quality of engineering studies and the subsequent documentation produced.
