What skills and experience we're looking for
Our OFSTED rated ‘Good’ school is looking for a skilled Learning Support Assistant to work in Year 2. This post will commence as soon as possible. At lunchtime the post holder will supervise children whilst they eat their packed lunches and play on the playground. High expectations of behaviour, welfare and safety are required to ensure the children have a positive playtime experience.
We would like to hear from you if you:
• are an outstanding practitioner
• have the ability to challenge and support pupils learning
• are able to demonstrate a good use of initiative and responsibility
• have a commitment to active learning
• are able to take on others ideas
• strong working knowledge of phonics
• strong working knowledge of Year 2 English and Maths curriculum
• demonstrate good listening and questioning skills
• ability to support Reading
• ability to delivery intervention groups independently of the class teacher
• have a knowledge of social development and how to support this
• are a team player
Our curriculum is set up to explore learning through a hands-on approach that requires skilled professionals to have the ability to promote what is being seen as well as knowing the curriculum well enough to make connections with other areas of the curriculum at the same time; i.e. development of grammar through an investigation or the use of speech.
