As OT Software Testing and Packaging Engineer, you’ll be responsible for providing software and business application support for critical Operational Technology (OT) devices. This will include laptop assets and applications used by operational users and suppliers to maintain and support protection and control equipment.
Managing, maintaining and enhancing the software library and suite of OT applications, you’ll collaborate with the stakeholder teams during Factory Acceptance testing and type registration process. You’ll test the software on the OT-PAW virtual environment and package the application with pre-requisites and configurations, maintaining an inventory of software hashes of all approved OT software.
In addition, you’ll co-ordinate and report on any cyber incidents on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) software, proactively exploring emerging technology, software, and applications to inform the future strategic direction of the OT PAW platform.
You will also check compliance for End user license agreements and work with National Grid licensing team and commercial team to manage licenses, renew licenses, and procure new software.
We’re flexible on where you’re based but there will be a requirement for you to work out of our offices in Warwick 2 days per week and this can be combined with hybrid working from home. There will be the need for occasional travel to substations across the country.
What you'll need
With a background in IT or cyber security and a Level 4 qualification in cyber security, networking or an engineering related discipline, you’ll have experience working on Cloud data libraries or on-premise data libraries.
Experience of Software Lifecycle management, Power BI, MS Office Suite, Data Insights platform or similar platform are all essential, coupled with a technical understanding of the Operational Technology (OT) assets and software used in OT assets.
Good stakeholder management and communication skills are essential, and you’ll be able to comfortably interact with NGET operators and third-party contractors and suppliers. You’ll have a high degree of self-motivation and possess analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
