Description
Working in our Non-Delegated Authority Motor team the file handler will handle mainly fast track litigated motor instructions on behalf of key insurer clients, from issue of proceedings through to Trial. There may also be a selection of non-litigated, small claims to deal with if they fall into the NDA remit.
It will be necessary for the file handler to be able to demonstrate an ability to impress the client with the extent of their legal knowledge and provide clear unambiguous advice on the strategy for bringing a claim to its resolution. A clear view on both relevant case law and appropriate evidence will be necessary.
Whilst not essential, it would be preferable for the file handler to have experience of handling indemnity disputed cases and counterclaims. There is no requirement for the candidate to be a Solicitor or Legal Executive. Both qualified and non-qualified candidates are welcome to apply for the role.
Key Responsibilities
You will have overall responsibility of your own RTA files and will formulate your own strategies. You will have the support and supervision of your team leader in order to help any development needs. As a file handler, you will undertake negotiations with Third Party Solicitors whilst also liaising with the Insured, Insurers and Brokers where necessary. We have our own bespoke case management system that is kept up to date with current actions, this is a time recording role. You will be able to undertake your own Court Hearings and ensure the appropriate level of delegation is given to the support staff / Paralegals within the team to remain as efficient and effective as possible.

What we are looking for:
* Sound and practical experience of handling fast track RTA litigated files with evidence of managing own case load and reporting skills
* We will consider both defendant and/or claimant experience
* You will be a good team player with excellent communication & organisational skills
