The Opportunity
The Buyer will implement the Procurement strategy for all purchased materials, focusing on operational efficiency and effective communication. This role involves managing the supply chain process from sourcing to inventory management, ensuring the availability of key raw materials. The Buyer will serve as the main contact for product-related decisions, working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to achieve operational goals and identify opportunities for process improvements.

What you’ll be doing
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
* Product Portfolio Management: Manage day-to-day operations for a designated portfolio of products, focusing on effective procurement and supply chain coordination.
* Full Procurement Cycle: Execute procurement activities with autonomy for sustainable sourcing, adhering to the five rights of procurement within pre-set strategies.
* Spend Accountability: Manage medium to large spend categories within the assigned product portfolio, balancing cost efficiency and supply security.
* Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:Use systems like JDE to maintain inventory levels and ensure continuous supply, responding to operational requirements.
* Supplier Meetings & Industry Engagement:Arrange and participate in supplier meetings, industry events, and international travel when required to strengthen relationships.
* Data Reporting & Presentation:Run contract reports and MRP, presenting key market data and insights to stakeholders via formal and informal mediums.
* Cost-Reduction Execution: Implement cost-saving initiatives through supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing, and improved payment terms, focusing on operational results.
* Global Market Awareness: Monitor global markets, staying updated on relevant market conditions, supply risks, and dynamics, and communicating key insights internally.
* Service Delivery: Maintain a consistent level of service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring operational excellence.
* Risk Monitoring & Communication:Stay informed on material supply issues and communicate any significant risks to relevant parties.
* Stakeholder Support: Advise and assist stakeholders on procurement-related matters, contributing to business value with operational support.
* General Procurement Tasks: Perform tasks related to procurement that align with the general role description, ensuring smooth daily operations.
What we’re looking for

* A Level or high school diploma (US) equivalent, vocational qualification, diploma in Supply Chain
Essential criteria:
* Previous experience within a Procurement or Supply Chain environment
* Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the 5 rights of Procurement
* Data extraction and analysis
* Strong commercial acumen
* Collaborative, team-player, able to interact effectively regionally and globally
* Motivated and career driven. Self-starter - possesses drive, energy, and ambition
* ERP systems knowledge (JDE desirable)
* Competent international traveller
* Knowledge and experience of MRP systems
* A can-do attitude with a pro-active hands-on approach to all tasks
* An ownership mentality with the aptitude to work independently or in a team
* Someone who demonstrates innovation, drive and enthusiasm
* Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse a high volume of data and produce recommendations
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with particular focus on EXCEL
Desirable criteria:
* Experience of working within the Flavour, Food or Fragrance industry
* Degree level education or Working towards qualification (CIPS)
* Knowledge and experience of buying from a global supply base
* Experience using JD Edwards (JDE)
* A minimum of 3 years relevant Procurement or Supply Chain experience and commercial awareness
* Experience of purchasing a high volume of SKU’s
