We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Network Engineer to join our team and help us maintain and improve our network infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. You'll be involved in supporting our network operations, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the ongoing development of our infrastructure.
What You'll Be Learning and Doing:
Network Support:
* Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting network issues.
* Help with the deployment and maintenance of network equipment.
* Learn to identify and implement appropriate connectivity solutions for our business.
* Participate in testing and maintaining business continuity plans.
* Provide support to internal users and collaborate with the Application Support team.
Infrastructure Development:
* Contribute to the documentation of network infrastructure.
* Assist in researching and evaluating new network technologies.
* Learn about the design and architecture of network solutions.
* Learn about the upgrade paths of the network.
* Help identify areas for improvement in our network infrastructure.
* Contribute to the development of more efficient support processes.
* Participate in projects aimed at increasing network availability.
What You'll Bring (and Learn):
* A basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
* A strong desire to learn about network technologies and best practices.
* Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and techniques (even basic ones).
* An interest in learning about Cisco networking (CCNA level or equivalent is a plus).
* A willingness to learn about dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.).
* A desire to learn about firewalls and VPN technologies.
* An interest in learning about virtualized environments, such as VMware.
* A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* A basic understanding of computer architecture and operating systems.
* A willingness to learn about ITIL principles.
* A degree or equivalent in a technical field (or working towards one) is desirable.
* Any experience with scripting is a plus.
