Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions; these interventions will be underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO). Commission services where required. Provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal. Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services, within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects. Provide outcomes for the service and service users by using agreed tools/assessments underpinned by MOHO. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service. Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placement Work with clients to identify occupational therapy goals as part of the overall care plan, using specialist mental health and occupational therapy assessment tools (MOHO tools). Manage a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs (taking on the role of care co-ordinator and/or vocational lead where relevant). Plan and implement client centred individual and/or group interventions using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals. Monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention. Apply a high level of understanding of the effect of disability and provide training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the clients social ad physical environment. Assess the occupational needs of defined client group and establish and evaluate appropriate treatment programmes. 6.Provide a range of carer initiatives using psychoeducational approaches across the locality. Provide education, consultation and advice to other care settings e.g. Nursing Homes, Primary Care and other specialist mental health services. Have in depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act and implications on Occupational Therapy intervention. Carry out complex risk assessment involving wide consultation and collaboration.
