Sinclair Pharma, a global leader in injectable products and medical devices, seeks a highly experienced and strategic professional to lead our Global Procurement function. As the Head of Global Procurement, you will oversee all aspects of procurement across the organization, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and strategic sourcing of materials, components, and services required to produce our injectable products and medical devices. You will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with global operations, regulatory standards, and market demands. This role requires an individual with a proven global procurement management track record, strong leadership capabilities, and expertise in the pharmaceutical, injectable, or medical device industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Procurement Strategy and Leadership:
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive global procurement strategy to ensure alignment with Sinclair Pharma’s objectives, goals, and operational needs.
2. Lead, mentor, and manage the global procurement team, ensuring high performance, professional development, and alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
3. Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, packaging, services, and equipment for injectable products and medical devices, ensuring a reliable, quality-focused, cost-effective supply chain.
4. Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and services that meet production requirements.
Supplier Management & Relationship Building:
1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and strategic partners to ensure reliable and quality material sourcing while managing vendor performance.
2. Negotiate favourable contracts with suppliers, ensuring the best value, quality, and terms for the company while adhering to global regulatory standards.
3. Drive supplier performance management by implementing KPIs, conducting regular supplier reviews, and ensuring suppliers meet Sinclair Pharma’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Cost Management & Optimization:
1. Lead cost-reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for procurement savings, optimizing vendor contracts, and leveraging economies of scale.
2. Analyze procurement data and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve purchasing efficiency, and streamline procurement processes.
3. Manage procurement budgets, forecast material requirements, and control procurement expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and company financial goals.
Global Supply Chain & Risk Management:
1. Oversee global sourcing and supply chain management, ensuring continuity of supply, reducing lead times, and mitigating supply chain risks.
2. Collaborate with the supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing teams to address any disruptions in supply and ensure that production schedules are maintained without delay.
3. Proactively manage supply chain risks by monitoring global trends, geopolitical factors, market fluctuations, and supplier health, and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
1. Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant global regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, ISO 13485, FDA, EU regulations) and Sinclair Pharma’s policies.
2. Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure the procurement of materials and components meets all safety, quality, and compliance requirements for injectable products and medical devices.
3. Ensure suppliers comply with regulatory standards, conduct necessary audits, and establish quality control measures to maintain the highest standards.
Procurement Systems & Technology:
1. Lead the adoption and implementation of advanced procurement technologies and ERP systems to improve procurement efficiency, reporting, and visibility.
2. Oversee the integration of new technologies, automation, and digital tools to streamline the procurement process, optimize inventory management, and improve supplier collaboration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
1. Work closely with other departments (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, quality, sales, and finance) to align procurement strategies with organizational goals and product lifecycle needs.
2. Provide expert input on procurement-related matters during product development and lifecycle management to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and components.
Qualifications & Skills:
* At least 10 years of experience in global procurement management, strongly focusing on the pharmaceutical, injectable, or medical device industries.
* Proven experience managing procurement for injectable products and medical devices, with a deep understanding of sourcing, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a global procurement team.
* Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate favourable terms and build long-term supplier relationships.
* Excellent global supply chain management knowledge, including risk management, logistics, and vendor performance monitoring.
* Strong understanding of regulatory standards (GMP, ISO 13485, FDA, EU regulations) and the ability to ensure compliance with procurement activities.
* Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced procurement technologies.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze procurement data, identify trends, and drive improvements in procurement processes.
* Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
