Maintenance Crafts person Band 4 - hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates and Facilities Department at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust for a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Craftsperson to join the Estates team to keep our hospital environment safe, operational and support the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff, and visitors.
With comprehensive knowledge of working on steam and condensate systems, water, boilers, heating, and ventilation systems, therefore applicants should be able to arrange their own work and carry out tasks in a safe and tidy manner.
To maintain continuity of service there will be times when extra hours, altered work patterns / duties is required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a member of the core maintenance team responsible for carrying out day to day repairs and statutory planned preventative maintenance across the Trust site.
The post holder will be required to have knowledge of mechanical services and undertake work on steam, heating, DHW, CWS, waste services and medical gas systems, including all ancillary equipment, and any other systems as would be appropriate to the role
PPMs and day-to-day tasks will include;
regular inspection, testing and maintenance of Air Handling Units and ventilation plant, in accordance with HTM03-01, including taking and recording of differential pressure readings, maintaining, repairing and cleaning AHU's and changing filters as and when required.
regular inspection, testing and operation of steam systems, including boiler plant as per PSSR 2000 Regulations
flushing and monitoring of water systems in accordance with Control of Legionella HTM04-01, L8 and the Estates Water Management Regime documentation. Regular testing of high limit controllers / devices on calorifiers, strip down of domestic calorifiers / heating calorifiers, in preparation for statutory insurance inspections and re-build after inspection.
Fault finding, inspection and repair of mechanical plant and equipment, heating plant and equipment and any elements necessary to provide statutory maintenance compliance of the built environment.
