Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) offers a regional service for the diagnosis and on-going management of Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions. The Regional Genetics Service is based on site and the Cardiology Department works closely with it to provide a multi-disciplinary approach. The patient population covers the entire spectrum of inherited cardiovascular conditions including aortopathies, cardiomyopathy, inherited arrhythmias, neuromuscular disorders with cardiac involvement and multi-system disorders. CUH is also one of the six designated adult centres for Fabrys disease and the regional centre for vasculitis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take part in the cardiac management of these patients. The role has a strong clinical focus, but with also opportunity for research involvement if desired. The CUH ICC Service also has strong links with Royal Papworth Hospital, which is relocated to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus beside CUH. A fully integrated ICC Service runs between the two sites. The ICC Fellow will be expected to participate in the cardiology SpR out-of-hours on-call rota (1 in 10-12, non-resident) but not in the delivery of the day-time in-patient service.
