About the department The Information Governance and Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring the SRA's compliance with the requirements of the data protection legislation, as well as helping to ensure that the business follows good records and information management practice. The team handles data protection requests and queries as well as requests under the SRA's Transparency Code (Freedom of Information Act) and manages information security incidents. The role You will have an opportunity to be part of a supportive and friendly team that collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation. In the role you will be responsible for dealing with information governance and compliance matters including handling requests under Data Protection legislation and request for information under the SRA's Transparency Code (in line with Freedom of Information Act) as well as promoting best practice in records management. You will act as a key contact for data protection and information governance, records management and information security incidents. You will support your colleagues in handling complex disclosure matters and join projects where advice and support are required. You will raise the profile of Information Governance and increase awareness of data protection and information security across the organisation, ensuring colleagues understand their responsibilities by developing and delivering training and awareness sessions, creating policies, procedures and guidance. You will assist the DPO's wider team in all aspects of information governance and compliance. This is an exciting role that will suit an individual who has previous experience in working in a similar environment and possess knowledge of data protection legislation. Someone who has excellent attention to detail, good time and workload management skills, good communication skills and the ability to assess and prioritise competing demands on their time.
