An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Property & Commercial Assets team, delivering a wide range of tasks across our corporate and commercial property portfolio. We are looking for a Corporate Project Officer with a wealth of knowledge in the delivery of property related projects across the council's property estate.
You will lead the planning and delivery of critical improvement projects focusing particularly on reducing our carbon emissions. These projects include fitting solar arrays to remove buildings from the grid, retrofitting and enhancing building fabric where necessary, and engaging in bidding for additional funding from various government grant schemes.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you'll need to have extensive experience working within the construction sector, with relevant construction knowledge including existing building types, forms of construction, and building pathology. You'll need to possess detailed knowledge of a range of contracts, and also have excellent construction related health & safety experience.
You will have good communication skills, planning ability, organisation skills, and be a creative thinker with the ability to build positive working relationships within the organisation with colleagues at all levels. You will need to be able to travel to a range of sites where you will oversee the various projects.
You will also assist skilled colleagues and contractors in their duties as necessary. You will need to be friendly and cooperative with colleagues in a small team for our customers from within the Council and members of the general public.
