1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant - Stoke
Academics are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-to-1 SEN Learning Support Practitioner to work within one of our partnering primary schools on a full-time basis until the end of the summer term. The successful candidate will work closely with a child with complex needs, providing personalised support to facilitate their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one support to a child with complex needs in their educational activities.
2. Create and implement individualised learning plans tailored to the specific needs of the pupil.
3. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the child's confidence and independence.
4. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure consistency and effectiveness in the child's learning experience.
5. Monitor and track the progress of the child, adjusting support strategies as needed to address any challenges or barriers to learning.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children with complex needs, preferably in an educational setting.
2. Knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs and the strategies to support them effectively.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
4. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with special needs.
5. Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
