We are seeking to appoint a colleague to provide the Head teacher with administrative and secretarial support to maximise effectiveness and to support Governances as Clerk to the Governors.
Bourne Community College is a growing and unique 11-16 mixed comprehensive Trust school, valued and supported by the local community. We have been awarded the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Award ‘Gold’, which very few secondary schools hold in the country, for the second time.
Our vision is to be the best version of ourselves; we have high expectations for our students and of our staff and we aim to provide the highest quality education in an atmosphere of mutual respect. We are a fully inclusive school where each individual is supported to develop and nurture the values, skills and attributes that enable them to become the very best that they can, regardless of their individual needs.
The Associate PA role is for two days per week (Thursday/Friday) to provide confidential and secretarial support to the Head teacher and you will be responsible for the administration of student admissions.
The Clerk to Governors performs a critical role, working closely with the School, the Governing Body and the Head teacher. The Clerk will be accountable to the Governing Body and will be responsible for advising the Governing Body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. The Clerk will secure the continuity of Governing Body business and observe confidential requirements.
There are approximately 16 meetings per year, usually held Tuesday afternoons/evenings. The successful candidate would need to be willing to work flexible hours to attend these Governor meetings. Knowledge of how schools and Governing Bodies operate would be an advantage along with previous experience of similar work. Training is available for the right candidate.
This is a permanent post, term time only plus Inset Days for three days per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Ideally we would like one person to take on both roles but if you are only interested in one role, please do apply.
Salary – from Grade 4-6 dependent on which role/s. From Grade 4 £23500.00 p.a. to Grade 6 £26421.00 pa. pro rata.
Visits to the school are very welcome, please contact Fiona Menzies, PA to the Head teacher on 01243 375691 or email office@bourne.org.uk.
Completed application forms to be returned to office@bourne.org.uk or by post addressed to the Head teacher, Mrs A Sharma.
