About the Role My exclusively retained client, McCartneys LLP, are a well-established firm with a strong reputation in the rural property sector, is seeking a talented Rural Chartered Surveyor (MRICS qualified) to join their dynamic team of 20 professionals at their Hay-on-Wye office. This position is office-based and permanent. Key Responsibilities Rural Property Valuation: Valuing agricultural, residential, and commercial properties for various purposes, including sales, purchases, finance, taxation, and insurance. Estate and Land Management: Managing rural estates, handling lease negotiations, rent reviews, and advising on tenancy matters. Planning and Development: Providing advice on planning applications, agricultural ties, and rural diversification projects. Compulsory Purchase and Compensation: Acting on behalf of clients in negotiations related to compulsory purchase orders. Building and Structural Surveys: Inspecting rural buildings and providing reports on condition and necessary repairs. Compliance and Legal Advice: Ensuring properties meet all relevant regulations and providing expert guidance on land and property law. Farm Diversification: offering advise and direction on utilising famr businesses to their full potential. Qualifications and Experience My client are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria: MRICS Qualified: Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Proven Experience in Rural Property: Ideally with exposure to a wide range of surveying duties outside local authority or capital accounting-focused roles. Strong Commercial and Client-Facing Skills: Ability to build and maintain client relationships and deliver tailored property solutions. Relevant Academic Background: A degree in Rural Estate and Land Management, Surveying, or a related RICS-accredited field.
