Security Systems Manager AfC Band 6 plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,679.10 per annum Hours – 37 Contract Duration – Permanent Post Details – The State Hospital, provides maximum secure psychiatric care for patients from Scotland and Northern Ireland. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates Department for a Security Systems Manager. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all frontline security systems are integrated into the normal service operations of the hospital, and to ensure that all systems are performing in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and standards, providing appropriate support and guidance as required. You will be responsible for managing the security systems maintenance providers and undertaking technical and volumetric audits for all systems. A flexible approach to work is necessary as variations to the standard working week may be required in order to meet the needs of the service. Experience – You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant knowledge, training and experience. You will have experience of managing technical security systems. Starting from 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will be reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours, and part-time staff will get a pro-rata reduction in their working hours without losing any earnings. Although the State Hospital will implement this change, it may not be possible to transition fully from 1 April. Therefore, there may be some areas in the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department cannot safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety.
