What skills and experience we're looking for
The Trust is looking to recruit an individual to become a Clerk for two of our school’s Local Governing Bodies (LGB). You do not have to be an experienced governance professional to apply for this role but it is essential that you have excellent written skills and some experience of minute-taking.
Job Title:Clerk to the LGBs for Valley and Unicorn Primary Schools
Reports to:Head of Governance
Responsible for:Providing a full clerking service to the LGBs of Unicorn and Valley Primary schools
Scale/FTE -BR7Point: 22-25
Average of 4 hours per week (2 hrs per week, per school)
38 weeks per year.
Hours: Part-time, term time – approx. 10/12 hours allocated for evening meetings and associated work.
Key Responsibilities:
• To liaise with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher to set agendas for six meetings per year.
• To circulate documentation prior to each meeting.
• To attend six LGB meetings per academic year – approx. 2 hours in duration.
• To produce accurate, concise and timely minutes.
• To support the board with ad hoc meetings.
• To provide advice on governance, procedural and constitutional matters.
Successful applicant will:
• Display a high standard of verbal and written communication.
• Be capable of minuting discussions effectively, accurately and appropriately and be mindful of the sensitive nature of some discussions.
• Be organised, flexible and able to work well under pressure.
• Be competent in the use of ICT.
