Health Care Support Worker - Hafod CMHT Secondary Care

To provide day-to-day care for service users under supervision of a Clinician, adhering to best practice, standards, and guidelines, and contributing towards the service users' care and treatment.
* Work in partnership with service users and other members of the MDT staff as appropriate to achieve the best health outcomes for clients.
* Be part of the MDT in providing high and consistent levels of holistic care, maintaining the dignity and equality of the individual, including direct care.
Main duties of the job
This is a full-time opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic individual to work as a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within the Denbighshire Community Mental Health Team. Candidates should hold a positive attitude towards the mental health care of older persons and ensure that their needs for privacy, respect, dignity, and confidentiality are maintained at all times. The successful candidate will deliver high standards of care as part of a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team based at the Community Mental Health Team in Denbighshire.
Fluency in Welsh is desirable; applications in Welsh or English are equally welcome and will be treated fairly.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualifications/experience.
* Good knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
* Understanding of multidisciplinary and agency working, and team roles.
* All Wales HCSW induction framework.
* Training in Mental Health.
* Understanding of risk management and health & safety issues.
Experience
* Experience working as a HCSW without direct supervision in a clinical setting, managed by a qualified practitioner.
* Knowledge of risk assessment and management.
* Experience caring for older people.
* Experience in mental health care settings.
* Experience working in the community.
Skills
* Ability to provide wound care using aseptic techniques.
* Knowledge of ANNT, basic observations, vital signs recording (BP, pulse, temp, respirations, blood sugar), venepuncture, routine ECG, urine testing, and other clinical skills as per service need.
* Clear and accurate communication skills.
* Adaptability to new circumstances.
* Ability to work independently under supervision and seek clinical advice when necessary.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Applicants must submit to a criminal record check.
Salary: £24,433 to £26,060 per annum, pro-rata.
