IT Infrastructure Technician Location: Home Based/Remote – regular travel to our Northern sites Salary: £29,000-£31,000 dependent upon experience Hours: Full- time (40hrs per week) The Aurora Group We’re one of the largest providers of SEND educational and care services in the country, supporting over 1,200 children, young people and adults, and employing over 1,500 staff spread across 27 services around England. Due to the continued growth of our company we’re looking for an additional IT Infrastructure Technician. You will primarily involve commissioning and supporting the IT Infrastructure across our new and existing services as part of the infrastructure team. This position is home-based, with mainly travel to our northern sites but will require travel across the UK when required, including overnight stays during peak periods, as well as some flexibility on working hours. Key Responsibilities: Work alongside the IT Support Team to support the Group’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. As part of the Infrastructure Team help commission the IT infrastructure across new service projects, ensuring smooth integration into the existing infrastructure. Provide technical support for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of hardware systems and associated software across the Group. Assist with the deployment and configuration of new technologies, ensuring alignment with organisational needs for futureproofing. Travel to relevant meetings when required across the UK with overnight stay (when required). Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices, including network security, firewalls, and data protection protocols. Contribute to IT projects and service improvements, working alongside other team members to implement changes and upgrades effectively. Deliver excellent customer service to internal stakeholders, maintaining a professional and responsive approach to all technical support requests. Skills and Qualifications Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: A good understanding of network systems and network security. Experience in Meraki desirable Practical experience in supporting network infrastructure, particularly in a managed service environment. A good understanding of network security, including firewalls, patching, and vulnerability assessments. Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, able to interact professionally with stakeholders across the Group. Ability to travel (inc. overnight stays), drivers licence and access to a car
