Maintenance Supervisor
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our maintenance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance work and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Job Requirements:
Technical Expertise:
* Strong knowledge and experience in maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance procedures.
* Proficient in using various tools and equipment required for maintenance work.
* Familiarity with mobile plant equipment is preferred.
* Previous experience in the waste and recycling sector is beneficial.
Leadership and Management:
* Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and support staff.
* Excellent people skills with the capacity to nurture a productive and collaborative work environment.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating maintenance activities, including delegating tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
* Ability to monitor and evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide necessary feedback and coaching.
Communication and Collaboration:
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members, management, and external suppliers.
* Ability to foster open lines of communication and maintain good relationships with equipment manufacturers and other suppliers.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with the operational team to achieve operational targets and drive process improvement.
Health and Safety Compliance:
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices related to maintenance work.
* Experience in conducting risk assessments, creating work-based method statements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
* A proactive approach to maintaining high standards of maintenance health and safety.
Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement:
* Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and identifying defect trends.
* Commitment to driving continuous improvement in maintenance processes, techniques, and equipment.
* Innovative thinking and ability to implement positive changes effectively.
Organisational Skills:
* Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records, monitoring departmental expenditure, and planning maintenance stock.
