Job Description for Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor to oversee the construction and commissioning of a new production unit in East Yorkshire, UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget, while maintaining compliance with all relevant safety protocols, standards, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitoring contractor activities, including site inspections, audits, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of E&I systems.
* Quality assurance: reviewing E&I installations for adherence to designs and technical specifications, identifying and addressing deviations promptly.
* Progress reporting: providing regular updates on project status, highlighting challenges, delays, or risks.
* Safety and compliance: promoting safety on-site, ensuring the contractor adheres to all HSE regulations, conducting safety audits and risk assessments regularly.
* Problem-solving: identifying and addressing on-site E&I issues, implementing solutions to mitigate delays and quality concerns.
* Documentation and reporting: ensuring documentation for E&I works, including progress reports, quality checks, as-built drawings, and daily logs.
* Stakeholder communication: coordinating with project engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues or implement design changes.
* EPC contractor interface: acting as the main contact for E&I issues, facilitating communication to ensure smooth project progress.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of experience as an E&I Supervisor, ideally in process plant environments.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
* Strong report-writing skills and ability to communicate professionally with vendors and clients.
* Thorough understanding of technical documents, such as P&IDs, electrical schematics, and maintenance instructions.
* Excellent communication skills, especially in interfacing with customers, clients, and visitors.
* Observant of compliance standards, with the ability to propose solutions for any issues identified.
* Physically capable of on-site mobility in varying weather and terrain.
* Experience managing construction schedules and adjusting for potential deviations.
* Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with clients and visitors.
* Certification in Electrical Installation (C&G 2367/2357 and NVQ Level 3).
* Familiarity with BS EN 61511 and BS7671 regulations for safety systems and electrical installations (18th Edition is a plus).
* CSCS card compatible with the role.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position with an estimated salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
