Join us to help deliver the next groundbreaking Apple product We are seeking highly motivated, innovative and confident individuals to join our GPU RTL Design Team and GPU Physical Design Team, working to advance the next generation of GPU architecture and micro-architecture. You will be at the centre of a chip design effort working with all disciplines, with a critical impact on getting high performant products to millions of Apple customers efficiently. Key Dates: - Applications are expected to close by 25th October 2024. - Initial Interviews will take place across week commencing 21st October and week commencing 28th October 2024. - Final Interviews will take place across week commencing 4th November and week commencing 11th November 2024. Locations: These roles will be based in London, St Albans or Cambridge. You will have the opportunity to express your location preferences if selected for interview. Description We will be hiring for the below internships in 2024/2025 and across the available start dates: Autumn 2024 or Winter / Spring / Summer 2025. RTL Design: You will assist with delivering high quality IP in order to meet performance, feature, timing, area and power goals. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Design Engineers, as well as work alongside our platform architecture, functional verification and physical design teams that are responsible for our GPU products. Your designs will need to balance energy efficiency and area constraints with project schedule and maintainability. Physical Design: As an intern you will join the GPU PD team, working on the physical design of new Apple products and will have the opportunity to see how a modern ASIC design flow works. With mentorship, you will work through all the aspects of physical design from the floorplanning of blocks, placement and routing. You will work with engineers to identify key metrics and analyse results then help write scripts to automate flows and help to improve these key metrics. You will utilise the latest technologies and learn from experienced engineers. Partnering with the RTL Design teams will be key to understand chip architecture and how physical design needs to work with these teams to achieve world beating results. Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field. At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate. A curiosity about GPU / CPU / SOC architecture and micro-architecture Strong coding skills with C or C++ Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python or Ruby Familiarity with SystemVerilog / Verilog / VHDL Preferred Qualifications Strong interpersonal and analytical skills Ability to work well within a team and be productive under tight schedules
