PRINCIPAL ENGINEER, PIPELINES - 30353
At Eni, we are looking for a Principal Pipelines Engineer within Eni Progetti at Basingstoke, UK. You will be responsible for supporting Eni’s worldwide projects providing technical leadership within the Pipelines discipline. They will be part of the Eni project engineering group based in Basingstoke (UK) and support the Pipelines activities in the different phases of the project.

EniProgetti UK operates a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure location. As such, typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.
As a member of the engineering department at Eni Progetti, you will be responsible for:
* Performing engineering design activities for onshore and offshore rigid pipelines in all phases of the project (from Concept Selection, FEED, ITT Preparation to the Execution phase) in collaboration with colleagues within the pipeline department and the organization.
* Being the Project Design Lead on large projects, managing and directing a team of discipline engineers and designers, and being responsible for the quality of pipeline work.
* Supervising, reviewing, and checking the pipeline activities on a project, including: Philosophies, Specifications, Routing Studies, Mechanical Design, Calculations, Stress Analysis, and more.
* Supporting CAD Designers in executing layouts and Project Pipeline drawings.
* Preparing datasheets and technical requisitions, compiling ITT, and performing Bid Evaluations.
* Validating the pipeline inspection and maintenance strategy and defining Emergency Pipeline Repair studies.
* Performing site visits to manufacturers as required.
* Checking design/installation activities carried out by Third Parties during the execution phase of the project.
* Acting as a technical specialist for Pipeline design activities.
* Collaborating with other disciplines during the project execution phase.
* Keeping abreast of pipeline design standards requirements and correct application of Company HSEQ policies.
* Regularly reviewing the suitability and accuracy of Eni technical standards and procedures and developing new ones as required.
* Undertaking short-term visits to a wide range of operating sites and Eni geographic regional offices worldwide.
* Ensuring a high standard of safety is maintained and Environmental and Quality Assurance processes are followed.
This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:
* Working experience in the Oil and Gas industry with respect to rigid offshore and onshore pipelines.
* Knowledge of software such as DNVGL pipelines design suite (SESAM, PET, AutoPipe, SAGE Profile, AGA is mandatory).
* Knowledge of software such as Ansys, ABAQUS, and Orcaflex is desirable.
* Knowledge of UK and international specifications and codes (BS, DNV, ISO, API, and ASME) is desirable.
* Highly motivated with great interpersonal skills.
* Excellent teamwork capabilities.
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
* Willingness to act and develop into a high-level technical expert.
Qualifications
* Ideally degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Pipeline Engineering, Subsea Pipeline Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
