We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated audiologist to join our friendly, hardworking team of audiologists, assistants and clerical staff.
The department offers a full range of audiological services including:
* Diagnostic support to the ENT department
* Reassessments
* Domiciliary service
* Hearing therapy
* Tinnitus management
* Vestibular rehabilitation and Assessment
* Adults with Learning Difficulties clinic
* Also we run peripheral clinics across the Wirral
Applicants must have a BSc in Audiology, or equivalent audiology qualifications and have good communication skills.
The role will include some supervisory duties, deputising for the manager when she isn't available.
You must be registered or in the process of registering with RCCP or AHCS.
Main duties of the job
* To provide Audiological diagnostic support to ENT clinics for adults and children, to include puretone audiometry and tympanometry as required, adapting instructions for individual patients to accomplish full understanding to obtain an accurate test response.
* To provide a comprehensive hearing aid service for patients referred from ENT and Audiologists, including provision of a full range of NHS hearing aids.
* To provide expert service and rehabilitation for hearing aid users at outpatients, community clinics and domiciliary which involves carrying stock and equipment to and from outstations.
* To support lead audiologist in provision of expert clinical service in rehabilitation of adults with tinnitus, hyperacusis, balance and obscure auditory dysfunction, deputising for the lead audiologist when she isn't available.
* To recommend more complex diagnostic assessments.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential
* BSc in Audiology or equivalent (Diploma Audiology with relevant BSc or BAAT parts 1 & 2, B/TEC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) CPD portfolio maintained).
* RCCP registration (Registered Council for Clinical Physiologists) or applied for, or HCPC.
* Significant experience as an audiologist.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
* Diagnostic - Understanding underlying principles and ability to perform the tests and interpret the results outlined in the job description to the required standards.
* Rehabilitation - Ability to appropriately set up, fit, evaluate and maintain the full range of NHS hearing aids.
* Listening and counselling skills.
* Ability to work without supervision in the diagnostic and rehabilitation areas outlined in the job description.
* Ability to use all routine audiology equipment and associated software.
