Residential Support Worker - Children and Young People - Southampton Salary: £27,580 - £29,040 (£13.60 - £14.30 per hour) plus £66.50 per sleep in Hours: Based on 39 hours per week with up to 2 sleep in duties across Monday to Sunday Location: Southampton Sector: Children and young people with additional learning needs and complex health needs Your role and the service: You will be working within a residential home near central Southampton (With bus and train links) to assist with the support of young people up to the age of 18 who have additional learning needs and complex health care requirements. Your role is vital in keeping young people safe, contributing strongly to their care daily care needs and learning and development. You will advocate pro-actively for each young persons needs, rights and views and ensure that these are met. You will also ensure that each young persons individuality, difference and diversity are always appreciated and that the young people are provided with equal opportunities and are not discriminated against. Principal Responsibilities: Your most significant contribution is that of a professional parent, nurturing and caring for the young people looked after You will take a child-centred approach in providing high quality care that will enable each young person to grow and develop healthily. You will implement and maintain clear and consistent boundaries necessary for the creation of a safe and secure environment necessary for each young person to flourish. You will need to be an active and willing participant in all team activities (i.e. weekly team meetings, training, etc). To care for young people means that you will be required to sleep-in as part of a shift - this is required up to two times per week. You will be expected to embrace company values, undergo modular training and implement your training in the homes.
