Lymphoedema Clinical Specialist Nurse or AHP

The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a medium-sized acute and community trust serving over 600,000 people across Enfield and Haringey.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse or AHP to join our small, experienced dedicated community nurse led Lymphoedema service on a 6 month Secondment.
The service provides specialist advice to patients on the management of lymphoedema, chronic oedema and lipoedema across the borough of Enfield.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take a leading role in the management, development, and efficient running of the Lymphoedema service. Responsibilities include providing specialist lymphoedema advice, support, education and training to patients, carers, and health care staff based on knowledge of relevant evidence and good practice guidance.
The post holder will need to demonstrate understanding of the causes and management of chronic oedema, lipoedema, primary and secondary Lymphoedema. They will carry a clinical caseload, working to a high professional standard, using advanced clinical and theoretical knowledge and skills to work as an autonomous practitioner.

Education and Qualifications
* 1st Level Registered Nurse/registered AHP
* Educated to degree level
* Relevant specialist post basic programme
* Further post-graduate accredited development
* Qualification in Lymphoedema Management or willing to undertake
* Prescribing Qualification (NMP V300) or willingness to undertake
* Master’s in nursing, midwifery, research or ethics / lymphoedema management
* Advanced Communication skills training
Experience
* Relevant clinical experience with patients who have Lymphoedema, chronic oedema and lipoedema
* Teaching experience
* Evidence of recent professional development
* Knowledge of NMC code of conduct
* Experience of formal & informal teaching of patients & staff
* Experience in applying evidence-based practice to clinical practice
* Experience in acting as a clinical mentor
* Experience in development of standards, guidelines, and policies
* Experience in audit and evaluation of practice / services
* Community nursing experience
* Experience in cancer or palliative care setting
Skills and Abilities
* Up to date knowledge and expertise in the specialty
* Evidence of developing & leading nurse/therapist led clinics / services
* Ability to work autonomously
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of key professional issues and NMC/AHP guidelines
