We are currently recruiting for an Adult Consultant Psychiatrist position in the Kent All Age Eating Disorder (AAED) service based at The Courtyard, Pudding Lane, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1PA.
This is a replacement, substantive, full-time post – 10 PAs with PA DCC and SPA. This post is currently vacant, and we wish to recruit to this post as soon as possible.
You will join another full-time substantive Adult Consultant Psychiatrist, CAMHS Consultants, Paediatrician, and CAMHS Specialty Doctor within the service, and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be expected to:
·Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to patients with eating disorders across all ages, although more focus on the adult patients
·Provide senior medical support to the team, and direct input on clinical cases
·Provide guidance and supervision to the team, work directly with adults (and their families), and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers, and acute hospitals
·Work alongside another Adult Consultant Psychiatrists, 2,8wte CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists, Paediatrician, and CAMHS Specialty Doctor within the service, and will share supervision requirements for junior doctors in the service
·Further develop links already established with the local acute trusts’ A&E departments and inpatient wards, in order to continually improve our services
·Be responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care
·Support their peers and team leader and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative and supervise junior colleagues
·Commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. CCT or equivalent
2. Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it. Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it. Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST

3. Masters or Doctorate degree. A management qualification. ECDL or equivalent qualification. Experience in strategic development
Clinical Experience

4. Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders especially eating disorders.

5. Experience in managing patients from different cultural backgrounds. Working with interpreters and translators
Knowledge
Essential criteria
6. Extensive knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social determinants of mental health disorders and evidencebased management interventions.
7. Up to date knowledge of recent DH documentation and NICE Guidelines.

8. An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF, and clinical governance priorities
