A Senior Manufacturing Engineer is required for a high-tech manufacturing company based in Coventry. My client has a state-of-the-art manufacturing centre and is developing a range of products for the energy generating and off-highway markets. Due to significant growth with key engineering partnerships, my client is recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Reporting to the General Manager the role is to support, grow and continuously improve the manufacture of world class products. The candidate will be a critical team leader in developing new methods of manufacture for machining and processes of internal components to drawings specifications. You will be required to working closely with the areas of Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing teams to influence the best practice. Key responsibilities and daily tasks will include: Be hands on with NPI through to Release to day-to-day operations. Process optimisation. Experience of programme CNC machines for various components on various machine platforms. Lead process improvements and NPI projects to the shop floor. Have experience of Lean manufacturing technics. Develop the machining cells to ensure they are world class. Support the production team on a day-to-day basis to ensure timely delivery of customer expectations. Using CAD to create CNC programmes for R&D prototypes, 1st off & production optimisation. Support the machining cells on real time problem resolution and technical issues. Be proactive in the recommendation of new or improved manufacturing techniques. Supply cost down analysis and project plans to reduce prime costs. Identify waist and define methods of reduction within the process to allow continual improvement. Assist in supervising the shopfloor activities / production. Training internally and externally as required. We are seeking individuals with the following skills and experience: Higher Education and / or relevant experience in a relevant field. At least three years’ experience working in leading edge manufacturing. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the following: Product specific tooling design for volume manufacturing, competent in AutoCAD, experience of NPI and structured problem-solving techniques. Influencing decision making in manufacturing method & design for manufacture. Excellent inter-personal skills to ensure that external resources are fully engaged in project goals. Experience of appropriate application of PFMEA, Control Plan, risk analysis. Must have programmer experience using AutoCAD. Mazak CNC machine experience is advantageous. This is a permanent position with a salary guide up to £55,000pa dependent on experience, and excellent opportunities for career progression within this growing organisation.
