Full job description-CNC Machinist Overall Purpose: To operate CNC Machines (Grinding) in line with workload requirements, ensuring that all parts are machined to meet customer requirements and strict quality standards. Total hourly rate: £16.95 Hours 37-hour contract - 3 shift pattern (morning, afternoon and night rotation) Morning Hours 05:45 - 13:45 Monday - Thursday 05:45 - 10:45 Friday Afternoon Hours 13:45 - 21:45 Monday - Thursday 10:45 - 15:45 Friday Night Hours 21:45 - 05:45 Monday - Thursday 15:45 - 20:45 Friday Please note whilst training for the role hours of work will be - 08:00 - 16:25 Monday - Thursday 08:00 13:20 Friday Key Responsibilities: Operating CNC Grinding Machines, ensuring that parts are machined in accordance with the agreed method specification as a CNC Machinist attain machine setting skills to enable machine set ups in line with Company requirements. As a CNC Machinist Understanding of engineering drawings, ensuring that fixtures are correctly aligned As a CNC Machinist you will be Inspecting parts in line with quality procedures and taking any necessary, approved, action to resolve quality issues Operating CMM machines to support inspection requirement. Consistently achieving all targets (production, quality, housekeeping etc), as set by the Cell Manager. Adherence to all company policys and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety. Requirements for the position of the CNC Grinder Operator: Full training will be given to the right candidate to develop you into a skilled CNC grinder. The following skills will be deemed advantageous but not essential as training will be given. o Previous experience in CNC machining or machinery. o Experience within a manufacturing environment. o Previous experience in CMM operation o Ability to read engineering drawings. o Able to self-inspect own parts using manual measuring equipment. A strong candidate will have o A strong appetite and desire to learn. o Good ability to absorb & retain information trained. o Ability to methodically think through task being undertaken. o Good time Management & prioritisation skills o Strong communication skills. Key Performance Measures: Quality performance (scrap, MRs raised).
