We are looking for a Business Support Technology Lead to join our Risk IT / Corporate IT team. This team supports businesses across Risk, Finance, Compliance, and HR with a suite of applications.
These applications are a combination of in-house and vendor technology. The team is responsible for developing these applications in line with stakeholder requirements, primarily driven by various business units and IT, which will also handle functional enhancements and maintenance activities like IT Security.
The team maintains a stable and high-performing production environment, investigates issues, and provides fixes aligned with business priorities.
Job Purpose
The primary responsibility is to support the production environment in Level 2, addressing daily queries, monitoring system performance, and providing cross-application support.
The candidate must understand the technical and functional intricacies of the Risk and Finance applications they support, including end-to-end business impacts, system interfaces, batch processes, and their downstream, upstream, and business implications.
They will collaborate closely with the Level 3 team and other cross-functional teams, ensuring quality control in change handovers to production. The candidate will also work with other staff and Level 3 Application teams to manage cross-system interfaces, collaboration, and knowledge sharing effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain production stability and availability by prioritizing break-fix and service improvement requirements through effective stakeholder management.
* Address IT risks and vulnerabilities across the application stack.
* Ensure batch SLA/OLA compliance, understanding the business impact of failures.
* Maintain knowledge base documentation for fixes and known errors.
* Follow logical access management and security policies.
Analytics, Problem Solving & Reporting
* Identify incident root causes and opportunities for service improvement.
Performance
* Proactively interrogate technology, processes, and data for stability and quality improvements.
* Manage workload proactively and understand escalation processes.
* Focus on incident reduction and improving production stability.
* Adhere to group standards, policies, and procedures.
Servicing Clients & Teamwork
* Support other team members and roles within the wider technology teams.
* Build strong relationships within technology and with the business, understanding their challenges and priorities.
Important Relationships
* Maintain strong relationships with application development (L3) teams for early engagement and delivery.
* Collaborate with risk and control functions to understand and mitigate risks.
* Work with other business units to ensure collaboration and shared understanding.
* Coordinate with Infrastructure support to ensure stability and availability of production services.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in Risk and/or Finance application support leadership roles.
* Experience in Risk and/or Finance within investment banking, understanding control needs.
* Knowledge of Credit and Market Risk is advantageous.
* Proven career progression and consistency.
