Do you want to forge a better relationship with your patient and their family?
Do you want to provide holistic care which is focused on your patient within their own home?
Do you want to play a crucial role in an Integrated Primary care team?
If the answer is yes to all of the above and you are a highly motivated, experienced nurse – we are looking for you to join our Salford Community District Nursing Team based at Swinton District Nurses.
All staff will have a six-week supernumerary induction period and support from the senior nursing team. Qualified staff who have not previously worked in the community will have a mentor and a designated trainer to assist with the transition into the community setting.
You will also benefit from personal and professional development, including opportunities to undertake the Community Specialist Practitioner qualification, non-medical prescribing, leadership and clinical modules, and Band 5 development programme.
The District Nursing Service provides care to patients and their families in their own homes and in a clinic setting. The teams are based at Lanceburn (inner city Salford), Broughton, Irlam, Swinton, Walkden, and Eccles.
You will work with your own caseload with full support from your Team Leader. Your caseload will be varied to your skills and training requirements, encompassing a variety of patients with health and social care needs. This can range from simple and complex patient care to looking after people at the end of their lives who wish to remain at home. You will work closely with the MDT (Social Workers, GPs, and Allied Health Professionals) to ensure that patient care is appropriately coordinated.
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. Our 20,000 colleagues care for people in hospital and in the community, working across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, and Salford, to save and improve lives.
As a large NHS trust, we are committed to enhancing the health of our local population by delivering consistently high standards of care and working closely with local authorities and key partners. We believe in our power and potential to make a difference and we’re always looking for people who demonstrate our three core values - care, appreciate, and inspire – to join our team.
In return, we can offer you a job role with purpose and flexibility. The size and scale of the NCA means we can provide more challenge and opportunities so your career can always be moving in the right direction. By joining us, you can also access a competitive benefits package, including a fantastic annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities, and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities, helping you to achieve more personal downtime and a better work-life balance.
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK or those who are currently enrolled in a course that means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 2-3 months.
Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfill the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. To learn more about how you can gain a full NMC PIN to be eligible to apply for our vacancies in the future, please see the NMC website: NMC Guide.
