Position:
Salary: £30,000 – 37 hours per week
Do you want to make a difference? An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Finance Operations team for someone with great people skills, good numeracy skills and interest in learning accounting to help us build strong communities.
What’s the role?
As part of our Finance Operations team, you will ideally be working towards a Certified Accounting qualification and help us deliver a high-quality accounting service. You will achieve the first steps to becoming a recognised accounting professional and will be able to put into practice the knowledge you gain in a real-life dynamic business environment. All the skills you will learn will enable you to build a career in the exciting world of finance.
The right candidate will need the ability to think outside the box taking responsibility for delivering for our customers both internally and externally. You will need a desire to learn and make a difference to our tenants, and to be inquisitive and ask questions in order to learn how modern business environments work. You will need to be reliable and trustworthy as our department deals with sensitive data, and data security is paramount.
You’ll work effectively and proactively with colleagues to ensure that the Finance Operations team continues to provide a robust and quality service.
Requirements:
In this role you will need to:
1. Ensure a high standard of accuracy
2. Take personal responsibility for ensuring queries are resolved
3. Ensure that you are reliable in delivering a high-quality finance service
4. Regular Account and Bank Reconciliations.
What are we looking for?
You will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people. You’ll have excellent numeracy skills and a basic understanding of accounting. You will have a desire to become a business professional and to succeed.
Essential:
* Knowledge of Accounting
* Educated to GCSE Level or higher
* Excellent customer service skills
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent time management skills
* Good IT skills and some experience in Microsoft Office software
* Ability to work within a team
* You will need to maintain a satisfactory basic level DBS check.
Desirable:
* AAT qualified
* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
