A highly respected multi-disciplinary consultancy, home to a dedicated team of exceptional industry experts, requires a Principal Civil Engineer / Principal Structural Engineer to join their infrastructure engineering division and work on rail projects. In this exciting role, the Principal Rail Engineer will work on a range of interesting projects, such as bridge design and renewals, AFA schemes and station developments. Responsibilities: Act as technical lead for civil / structural design projects Line manage and mentor a team of Civil and Structural Design Engineers Provide engineering support and advice to colleagues and the wider team Support tenders Establish project programme, scope and budget Lead design reviews and design coordination / integration Ensure adherence to design standards Liaise with clients and attend meetings Requirements: Experience as a Principal Civil / Principal Structural Engineer within the rail sector Hold Chartered or Incorporated status Extensive experience in the design of civil engineering solutions in the rail industry Experience leading a team of design engineers Strong knowledge of Network Rail assurance process Commercial awareness CRE (D) is desirable Client-facing Knowledge of British engineering standards, as well as those of Network Rail, Eurocodes and CDM regulations Experience using structural analysis software, such as LUSAS, MIDAS, SuperStress, Robot, S-frame 3D, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds This is a fantastic chance to join a growing, award-winning consultancy with plenty of opportunities for career development and progression.
