Harborne Primary School is a four-form entry school split over two sites. We are a happy, warm and friendly community school with pupils and families from a wide range of beliefs, cultures and backgrounds and we celebrate diversity whenever we can.
Harborne Primary School is looking for a highly motivated and forward-thinking senior office manager with a desire to make a difference. The successful candidate will provide confidential, administrative and organisational support to the head teacher, senior leaders, and school staff.
We are looking for a professional and skilled individual who has the passion and energy to work within our busy school office team. You will need to have excellent communication, organisational, and customer service skills and be fully proficient in the use of a variety of IT systems including MS Office.
We require a leader who can drive and support change with the ability to take on ad hoc school projects. You will need to form positive relationships with our children, staff, parents, governors, and visitors. Flexibility in responding to priorities and problem-solving as required is essential. The successful applicant will provide support to the head teacher and oversee both administration teams at both sites during the normal working week.
Key responsibilities
* Manage the efficient and effective running of the school office, devising new systems as required and improving business efficiency and quality standards.
* Supervise staff as required.
* Establish contacts with a variety of outside suppliers of goods or services, handle the receipting of goods and invoice processing through FMS.
* Manage, collect, and reconcile school monies and provide statistical information as required; administer free school meals and milk in schools scheme.
* Manage the petty cash and school fund account.
* Administer schools’ admissions procedures and accurately maintain the pupil-related information system on SIMs.
* Complete staff returns and reconcile queries.
* Manage the quality of clerical support including emails, word processing, reprographics, and filing.
* Ensure a welcoming, calm, and effective main office and reception.
* Work closely with and take direction from the school business manager in administrative and office routines.
* Organize school visits, camps, and extracurricular activities.
* Organize daily/long-term supply needs of the school.
* Adhere to the ethos of the school.
* Promote the agreed vision and aims of the school.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016). Therefore, the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
