Job Description
We are currently recruiting a Health & Safety Officer on behalf of a manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Leicester. This key role is working with senior management to improve and maintain all H&S and Environmental activities on site.
Main Duties:
1. To promote and work with managers in determining safe working practices, ensuring that all service areas have suitable and sufficient risk assessments for their operations.
2. To maintain up to date knowledge of current and new legislative requirements, relating to health and safety issues.
3. Undertake planned health and safety audits and workplace inspections.
4. Carry out investigations of all incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
5. Liaise closely with the HR team and Managers regarding matters of concern and take appropriate action.
6. Ensure general administration of the Health and Safety service is carried out in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements:
1. Relevant Health & Safety qualification.
2. Management or leadership qualification.
3. PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification.
4. Ideally 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
