Anderson Knight has an excellent new role for a Commercial Contracts Manager for our client who is a Leading Utilities business to be based out of Glasgow.
The role is responsible for ensuring the business gets the best possible service and value from their supplier network, as well as ensuring all service providers are compliant and continue to meet contractual obligations and business needs. You will focus on providing the necessary pre and post contract and commercial support on a range of one-off and programmes of work. You will be able to combine strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience to support the business.
Responsibilities:
1. Client and supply chain contractual management
2. Identifying risks, opportunities, and any required actions
3. Management of client compensation event process, compensations, penalties, and contractual rates increase
4. Management and certification of supply chain
5. Oversee and involve in site operational processes such as measurement, compensation event identification, and cost base management
6. Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients
7. Manage contract negotiations focusing on discrepancies, compensation events, and potential penalties
8. Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met, and be ready to handle unexpected situations
9. Analysing projects, e.g. impact on timing, revenue, and gross profit of changes to supply chain and client rates
10. Management and reporting of project prelims
11. Supporting the tender and estimating team as and when required
12. Develop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant departments
13. Manage QS teams working alongside the Ops Manager to ensure fluid collaboration and support
Minimum Requirements:
1. BSc/BEng in business administration, engineering, or relevant field
2. Excellent commercial acumen and contract management skills
3. Excellent knowledge of contractual agreements and law
4. Experience in a similar role at a similar level
5. Ability to communicate at all levels
6. Contract drafting and writing skills
7. Strong communication, sales, and presentation skills
8. Competent in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
9. Competent in understanding project programmes and the commercial impact of changes
10. Ability to work on own initiative and act independently while being able to work successfully as part of a team
11. Able to work to deadlines
12. Full driving licence
