Position
Henshaws are looking for an Head of Care to lead the 24-hour service that provides support and care to young people from 16-25 years, with a wide range of disabilities. Additionally, support the Director of Education and Care in the continuous improvement of the quality of care, support and learning support offered. Responsible to ensure the delivery of a safe, effective, caring and responsive and well-led service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external quality assurance agents.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the effective management of House Managers, Assistant House Manager, and SWARs, assisting with HR processes where appropriate.
* Promote close working relationships and effective communication with other College and Charity Wide departments ensuring the student is at the centre of everything we do.
* Ensure that all resources are effectively managed and monitored in line with budgetary constraints, taking an active role in the overview of the resources allocated.
* Ensure staffing of services is managed in a cost-effective manner, overseeing management of rotas.
* Prepare and present comprehensive reports to the Senior Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Trustees, as required.
* Provide advice and support to help all staff implement safeguarding policies and procedures.
Salary - Circa £50,000
Hours - 37
Weeks per year - 52
Holiday weeks - 5 weeks plus 10 day bank holiday
Closing Date - Friday 28th March 2025
Requirements
* NVQ Level 5 or equivalent, in Health and Social Care.
* Formal qualification or training related to Safeguarding or willingness to achieve.
* Recent experience of successfully managing medium to large scale residential care provision.
* Experience of CQC compliance and current inspection processes.
* Experience of leading and managing a team.
